Italian Eatery request for recipes for Seafood Spaghetti.
I was fortunate in 2004 to visit Italy for the first time with my wife. What can you say to be in Italy is to love Italy. One place that I stayed was on the coast for a week called Vernazza in the Cinque Terre coast. It was a small fishing village located on the foot hills where they grew grapes and olives. There was also lots of fresh produce and seafood. One night we went out to dinner to an out door restaurant over looking the bay. I order seafood spaghetti. Everything was fresh including the white wine grown among the rolling hills. Do you remember the movie with Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in the Restaurant and the lady next to them said I will have what they are having. Well it was a kind of a reaction with my seafood dinner that Meg was faking.
So needless to say I feel in love with Italian cooking. So at the request from Joan Mirantz who wrote the blog recently Italian Eatery here is my recipe. First you need some Andre Bocelli music to set the mood. Then pour your self a little Pino and your ready. Here is what you will need.
- Fresh Basil.
- Sun Dried Tomatoes
- Garlic
- onions
- Fresh Tomatoes
- Shitake mushrooms
- zucchini squash
- small clams
- shrimp
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- ½ cup dry white wine.
- pinch of pepper
- Virgin olive oil
saute the above in olive oil start with the shrimp and clams then add the rest of the ingredients.
I like to use Artichoke Spaghetti noodles.
So mix the sauté ingredients with noodles and you are good to go. I hope you like it is a easy crowd pleaser.
Bon Appétit,
Stefano

Sounds deathly!! Your post is torturous, you know... after we visited Italy, I didn't eat italian food in the states for maybe about two years... I can't even go to Olive Garden any more!!! How is it that ingredients taste a certain way in Italy? It just doesn't taste the same here. There is one superb restaurant in Belltown, Seattle (La Fontana) that has a great spin on their dishes.. But really, I miss the food over there... your post agonized me!!!
We did make a superb Arrabbiata sauce yesterday, using both fresh organic tomatoes (local) and crushed tomatoes from Italy..
Hi Sara,
Your so right Italian food in American is so different. The Italians know how to eat and live. What blew me away was how healthy and beautiful a people they were. Can I get you recipe for your sauce.
